Community Projects
Blakeslee Rotary Club members are working to establish a "Dog Park". Currently we are at a stand still as far as the venue. Previously we were looking into the property located on 115, but that has created a road block for us. The funds we have already raised are safely in a designated "Dog Park Fund" and will be allocated as soon as we can establish a venue.
We will continue to host several fundraisers for the dog park. In addition, we are seeking our 501c3 to help with larger donations. This way our foundation can help fund this amazing endeavour.
The Rotary Club seeks to get a group together who would build a fenced-in play area for dog socializing and exercising, with separate spaces for small and large dogs. The play area would feature play objects for the dogs, benches for the owners, and receptacles, bags and the like for clean-up.
Rotary Club members plan to seek donations to build the park, and raise money with advertising signs hung at the park for upkeep and further property improvements. It is hoped to extend the pet-friendly nature of the park onto some walking trails (some trails exist, but would need upgrading, signage and places for pet waste collection).
We are confident we can do this and make Blakeslee more Beautiful and Pet Friendly.
We can always use your help.
